Sending Videos on QQ Without Compression

Unlike WeChat, QQ passes files through untouched — the trick is choosing the file entry instead of the album quick-share. Compression usually happens because of the entry you picked, not the app.

Entries and what they do to quality

File entry: original file passes through byte-for-byte. Pick files from the file manager rather than the gallery.
Gallery quick-share: the client may re-encode before sending.
Group files: original quality, best for large files and multi-person distribution.

When the file is too big

Direct chat caps files in the 4 GB range (varies by version and membership). Beyond that: group files, QQ Mail large-attachment transfer, or compress first. Screen recordings and camera footage typically lose 40–60% at CRF 23 with no visible change — compressing beats splitting or cloud links.

Receiver can't play it

QQ transport does not alter encoding, so playback failures mean the file itself: HEVC video (black screen without decoders) or TS/FLV containers. The sender should convert to H.264 MP4. If the received file size differs from the sent size, transfer was incomplete — re-receive.
