Side-by-Side Comparison Video: Two Versions in One Frame

Orientation follows the footage
Two horizontal clips go left-right, which reads like widescreen and suits horizontal publishing. Two vertical clips stack top-bottom so neither band gets squeezed. Mixed shapes: follow the publishing platform.
Spec: unifying the short edge
Each side scales proportionally to a unified short edge: 540, 720, or 1080. Use 540 for small quick previews, 720 for most comparisons, 1080 when viewers will zoom in on detail. Higher spec means bigger files; 720 is fine for self-review.

Audio: decide what should be heard
The default mixes both tracks simultaneously. For narration-style comparisons pick first-clip-audio or none so the two soundtracks do not fight. Pure visual checks — compression artifacts, sharpness — are cleanest with no audio at all.
