Mix Voiceover and Background Music into One Track
Mixing two tracks is one step; the hard part is the volume ratio. For voice-led content, music is atmosphere only — start near 80/20 and let your ears decide.
Fix each track before mixing
Voice: denoise first, then level. Noise buried under music becomes more obvious, not less.
Music: match the voice length — a longer tail drags, a shorter one ends abruptly. Trim or fade first.
Finding the ratio
Voice-led (talking, podcast): start 80/20; the baseline is every word stays clear.
Balanced (singing, recitation): start 50/50 and nudge. Practical trick: mute the music, confirm the voice, then raise music until it starts interfering — stop one notch before.
